Luv Ranjan's Film With Ranbir Kapoor And Ajay Devgn Gets Delayed Again After Deepika Padukone Walks Out
As per the latest update, after Deepika walked out of the film, it has been put on hold yet again. However, that's not the only reason behind this delay. Read on to know why Luv's film will not go on the floors as per the original schedule.
Fans of Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor were more than elated after pictures of them outside director Luv Ranjan's office made way to social media a few weeks back. It hinted at their reunion on the screen. However, a set of people called out Deepika for even considering to be in this film given that Luv has been accused of sexual harassment. So much that #NotMyDeepika became a top trend on Twitter. Later, in an interview, Deepika made it clear that she won't work with anyone, who has been accused of any sort of inappropriate behaviour, without taking any names. This only meant that Deepika has rejected this film offer and that she is not a part of the project, which will also have Ajay Devgn.
As per the latest update, after Deepika walked out of the film, it has been put on hold yet again. According to Mid-Day, the story of Luv's film is still in the scripting stage. Also, Ajay and Ranbir are busy with their respective projects. While Ranbir is busy with Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra with girlfriend Alia Bhatt, Ajay, on the other hand, is prepping for the historical biopic Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Deepika Padukone Says 'No' to Work With Anyone Accused of Sexual Harassment, Does This Mean She Has Rejected the Luv Ranjan Film?
"According to the original plan, the film was expected to kick off this year. But the script is yet to be locked. Couple that with the lead actors' choc-a-block schedule and the film has been pushed by a year now,” a source revealed to the tabloid.
There were rumours that the project has been put on a backburner owing to the allegations against Luv, but turns out they were just rumours. “Luv will utilise the time to finish the final draft and take it on floors by mid-2020. There is no truth to the allegations that the film has been shelved owing to his #MeToo complaint. Ranjan came clean on the matter and apologised for his said misconduct, citing that it was never his intent," the source further added. Well, now that Deepika is not a part of this project, we wonder who is going to be the new female lead.
