Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar on Saturday paid a moving tribute to the Indian soldiers based on the lyrics of Prime Ministerial candidate of the BJP Narendra Modi's 2014 election slogan "Saugandh Mujhe Is Mitti Ki Main Desh Nahin Mitne Doonga." The 89-year old legendary singer tweeted the video and wrote, “Namaskar. A few days ago, I was listening to India’s Honourable Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi’s speech. He had recited a few lines of a poem, which I feel in reality is every Indian’s thought (Man Ki Baat) too. I have recorded it, and today I dedicate it to our brave soldiers and the citizens of the nation. Jai Hind!”Earlier, the veteran singer had also congratulated PM Modi and the ISRO scientists for ‘Mission Shakti’.
The Prime Minister also responded to her tweet saying, "From the depths of the heart to this song, your affection and blessings are a source of inspiration for me."
A song on the same lyrics is also a part of the PM Narendra Modi biopic starring Vivek Oberoi. In the film, the song has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh. PM Narendra Modi Song Saugandh Mujhe Iss Mitti Ki: Sukhwinder Singh's Powerful Voice Makes This Track Featuring Vivek Oberoi Pleasing (Watch Video)
