Cannes Film Festival is known to be one of the prestigious events on the global platform. Apart from the screening of the acclaimed films, it is even known for its glamorous red-carpet appearances by the beauties of cine world. The outfits and the hairstyles are the talking point of the fashion enthusiasts. Of course, nothing of this is a hard-written rule but unknowingly, the stars ought to follow the ‘rules’ of Cannes. One of the bizarre rules is wearing heels on the red carpet by the female stars mandatory. However, Hollywood star Kristen Stewart is not the one who buys this willingly. The Twilight actress recently subtly protested this custom by literally taking off her heels while walking on the red carpet.

Kristen took the shutterbugs by surprise as she removed her black stilettos and walked bare footed. There is an unsaid policy of ‘no flats’ at the event. An incident in 2015 where a group of female attendees were shooed away for wearing flats instead of heels, led to this outburst. This is not the first time that she spoke about this tradition at the fest.

The Lizzie actress earlier told Hollywood Reporter, “There’s definitely a distinct dress code. People get very upset at you if you don’t wear heels or whatever. I feel like you can’t ask that anymore, but it’s still a given. If you’re not asking guys to wear heels and a dress, then you can’t ask me either.” Kristen, who is also the jury member was attending the premiere of #SpikeLee's #BlacKKKlansman at Cannes 2018. Let’s see if Stewart gets more supporters in this protest further.
