Strong Girl Nam Soon: 5 Things The Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Sequel Lacks Compared to The OG

There were a few things that were unbeatable in the OG series, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. The sequel, Strong Girl Nam Soon, in its first episodes made it clear they might stay away from those OG moments. If that's done to be experimental, the first two episodes didn't suggest so. Let us tell you why.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is an extraordinary tale not because the story is out of the box but it's because of the way the story is narrated. Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik had the most amazing chemistry ever! The sequel, Strong Girl Nam Soon, has finally started streaming last week and already premiered two episodes. It was an extremely underwhelming experience. Park Hyung-sik in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, Ahn Hyo-Seop in Business Proposal - 5 Kdrama Bosses We Deserve IRL.

There were a few things that were unbeatable in the OG series. The sequel in its first episodes made it clear they might stay away from those OG moments. If that's done to be experimental, the first two episodes didn't suggest so. Let us tell you why.

Cliched supernatural origin series

The first season had a relatable feel despite Park Bo Young as Do Bong Soon having supernatural strength. There's a little guy who falls for the girl who saves him as a kid and manages to win her heart as an adult. He is also an accomplished and rich Game Developer despite being a chaebol. Nobody cared how Bong Soon got her powers. The sequel began with the origin story and made it so cliched that we lost interest. Why is it necessary to show a legacy family to make sense of her powers? Even if it was, the impact has been sad.

Devoid of cutesy charm

The OG series was all things cute. From the way Park Bo Young spoke to the way she bashed the bad guys or the way she pretended to be meek in front of her crush played by Ji Soo. Even the relationship between Hyung Sik's An Min-Hyuk and Bong Soon is nothing short of charming. The sequel severely lacks in cutesy charm.

Chemistry missing

You will say it's just two episodes but Bo Young and Hyung Sik's chemistry was palpable from the first few episodes as well. Sik is quite animated in this character while Young is petite yet strong. Lee Yoo-mi and On Seong-Wu don't strike us as a great pair. Business Proposal, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - 5 Kdrama Kisses Under The Cherry Blossom We Will Never Forget.

Why So Serious?

Humour is non-existent at present in the sequel and we highly doubt there will be any in the subsequent episodes. But this time, the makers went a step ahead and made it serious. A drug cartel investigation takes away the softness and delicate atmosphere of this series. The OG too had a few such cases but they never overpowered the love story. Here, it will!

OTT actors

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon also had melodramatic and animated moments. But none of them were so OTT that you couldn't bear it. In fact, we loved those cute animations that would pop up as a POV for the actors. But is Strong Girl Nam Soon this has reached epic proportions. The supporting cast is extremely loud and over the top making us cringe.
