Jayanthi Death Hoax: Family Denies Reports of Veteran South Indian Actress' Death News

Over the years, Jayanthi has acted in more than 500 films in various Indian languages namely Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

On March 27, it was reported that veteran South Indian actress Jayanthi passed away. The news of her demise spread like wild fire and was carried by all the major publications. However, Jayanthi's family have claimed that all the reports are false and it is a hoax, because the actress is alive. An Indian Express report, states that the veteran is responding well to the treatment and may be discharged in a couple of days.

According to reports, the 74-year old actress was admitted to hospital after she complained of breathing difficulties and was put on ventilator, after her condition deteriorated.

Over the years, Jayanthi has acted in more than 500 films in various Indian languages namely Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. She has also acted in films opposite legends like MG Ramachandran (MGR), Dr Rajkumar. Infact, she has been paired opposite Rajkumar in record number of films. According to reports, Jeenu Goodu was Jayanthi's first Kannada film. She was married to Film Director Peketi Sivaram, who helped to shape her career in the Kannada film industry.
