She might have come across as the most 'silent' contestant in the recently concluded Bigg Boss Marathi Season One, but that doesn't make the second runners-up Smita Gondkar any less active off the cameras. Yes, even in her interaction with LatrestLY Smita insisted upon the fact that she thrives on an adrenaline rush and loves to participate in contact sports. But who would have thought that Smita would go on to break a dahi handi, considered to be a male preserve primarily, in front of a sea of spectators
Janmashtami festival marks the birth of one of the most loved and ardently worshipped Hindu Lord Krishna. Everybody pours on the streets in joyous celebrations for this festival which entails activities such as dance-drama enactments of the life of Lord Krishna, prayers, night vigils and fasting. But what Smita has done on the occasion is really hatke. But the feat was not easy to achieve. One can see in this video Smita rehearsing with dahi-handi pathak during the nights before the main festival.
Before becoming famous with her Bigg Boss outing, Smita has participated in reality shows that demand heavy-duty stunts. Her love for biking and trekking is well known, but the way Smita climbed up the man pyramid to break the handi in Mumbai's prominent suburb Thane surprised one and all!
"I have always been a go-getter. I am raised that way. Even as a kid, I was encouraged to take up sports. I love cycling, swimming and bike riding. I have participated and won many adventure sports competition especially biking in India and abroad. Sports help you stay active and alert. It helps build the much-needed fighting spirit and help you evolve as an individual, " said Smita.
