Ishaan Khatter took the road less taken and made his movie debut with Majid Majidi's small budget film, Beyond The Clouds (2017). It turned out to be a good decision for he was highly appreciated for his performance in the film, which starred Malavika Mohanan opposite him. It is after this, he was introduced by Karan Johar on a grand scale through Dhadak (2018), the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster, Sairat. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film also marked the Bollywood debut of Janhvi Kapoor. While Janhvi went on to sign four more films (Takht, Dostana 2, Gunjan Saxena biopic and Roohi Afza) after Dhadak, not much was known about Ishaan's upcoming projects, till now.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Ishaan too has signed two new films, one of which will be produced by director Ali Abbas Zafar. “The first of the two projects will be officially announced within the next 10 days, while the second film will be announced after two weeks. As for the shooting, Ishaan will commence work on the first venture later this year in the third quarter,” a source revealed to the entertainment portal. Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter to Come Together for a Project?

One of the films will be Ali's first production venture under his banner which will be launched soon. Ali will not be directing this film and it's one of his assistants who will do that. As for more details about the casting of this dilm, the source further adds that it will be a romantic movie and Ishaan will be paired opposite a newcomer. “The makers of the film are in the process of locking the female lead and the same will be announced in the coming few weeks. As for the film itself, the yet untitled venture will be shot extensively in Mumbai,” the source was quoted.
