It has been a decade since the utterly remarkable zombie movie Zombieland arrived in our lives. Today, the first trailer of the sequel to the horror-comedy, titled Zombieland: Double Tap, was released on the internet. The first footage is equal parts nostalgia and awesomeness. Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin and Woody Harrelson reprise their roles from the first film. As soon as the name credits begin to roll, we get the tone of the self-aware humour in the film. After introducing all four main actors as Academy Award winners or nominees, the movie switches to a scene that tells us that it will not find a place at the Oscars. EVER. The Dead Don’t Die Trailer: Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton and Selena Gomez Take On the Undead in This Zombie Comedy – Watch Video.
In the second scene of Zombieland: Double Tap trailer, the gang of survivors take over an abandoned White House. Some jokes about how Woody would have been a fine president kick in. Well, at this point, there can be no jokes about who can't be the president.
We meet some new additions to the cast; Zoey Deutch, Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson and Avan Jogia. All seem to fit perfectly into the setting of the film, making it funnier.

It is not exactly revealed what the original gang is up to in this movie. But it might be that Abigail runs away with a boy and Emma wants to bring her back. But that can't be all of the plot. Right?
The gags that were shown in the trailer are hilarious. Avan's hippie-stereotyping joke might be insensitive but was funny. And, again, sensitivity has not been Zombieland's strongest attribute. Zoey is going to be exceptionally funny. Emma is in top form. It is so good to see the cast, directors and writers just have fun with the premise. Zombieland: Double Tap opens in theatres on October 18, just close enough to Halloween to draw in the right crowd.
