Zendaya, born September 1, 1996, in California, USA, is one of the biggest shining stars in Hollywood right now. Among the highest-paid actresses in the industry, Zendaya has an enviable filmography right now, what with MCU's Spider-Man movies and Dune films under her kitty, while also giving fantastic performances in series like Euphoria and movies like Challengers. Zendaya first rose to fame as Rocky Blue on Disney Channel's Shake It Up as a teen star. While her role as MJ in Spider-Man: Homecoming gave her global recognition, Zendaya grabbed more attention as a performer playing Rue Bennett in the critically acclaimed HBO series Euphoria. Her performance bagged her two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Zendaya Birthday: Red Carpet Appearances That Prove That She Was Born to Rule the Fashion Industry!
Some of her popular roles come in movies like The Greatest Showman, Malcolm & Marie, the Dune films, and Challengers. She also continued to play the role of MJ, Peter Parker's romantic interest, in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home. It is already no secret that Zendaya is also dating Tom Holland, who played Spider-Man in these movies.
Apart from being a gifted actor, Zendaya is also an incredible singer. She first released her singles in 2011, and she collaborated on a couple of them with Bella Thorne. Her 2013 single "Replay" was a major hit. She also released a self-titled debut album, Zendaya, that further established her cred as a singing star. On the occasion of her 28th birthday, we look at five songs sung by Zendaya that should be on your playlist.
1. 'Watch Me'
This peppy Disney music video sees Zendaya collaborate with Bella Thorne, and has some funky beats and fun choreography and costumes. The song is featured in the album Shake It Up: Break It Down, which also features two other songs of Zendaya and Bella Thorne collab, "Fashion Is My Kryptonite" and "Contagious Love".
2. 'Replay'
In 2013, Zendaya released her self-titled album, and "Replay" was the biggest hit song on the soundtrack. It won her enough acclaim and even got the triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). What's more, Zendaya also proved herself to be a talented songwriter, having written the lyrics for most of the songs in the album. Interestingly Nick Jonas was one of the writers of the song "Love You Forever" in the album.
3. 'Something New'
Like with Bella Thorne, Zendaya has collaborated with other musical artistes over her career. One of the best collaborations came with R&B artist Chris Brown in the 2016 single "Something New". Sadly there is no official music video for the song featuring the actress.
4. 'Rewrite the Stars'
While Zendaya sadly has not performed any song for the Spider-Man movies - what a missed opportunity this is - she did sing and perform in the 2017 musical film The Greatest Showman, which also starred Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. "Rewrite the Stars", her duet with Zac Efron, was a major hit, noted for their beautiful vocals and interesting choreography.
5. 'I’m Tired'
Zendaya's best performance is hailed to be in Euphoria, a show she is closely involved with. So it is hardly a surprise that she also co-wrote and sang a single in the season 2 soundtrack of the series. Zendaya had collaborated with Labrinth for this track, which not only won over the fans but also went on to earn an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
