V/H/S/Beyond has its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20, 2024, where it got good reviews. It is all set for a global premiere on Shudder on October 4, 2024.
Fans of horror movies would be aware of the V/H/S franchise—a set of horror anthology movies using found footage. The first film, V/H/S, came out in 2012 and was a cult hit, marking the beginning of a franchise. The V/H/S series currently consists of six movies and two spin-offs, and now it is ready with the seventh main entry in V/H/S/Beyond, the trailer of which was dropped on September 24. What's more, it has an Indian connection, or rather a Bollywood one! ‘Sinners’ Trailer: Michael B Jordan Leads Battle Against the Undead in This Ryan Coogler Horror Film (Watch Video).
Like the previous movies in the franchise, V/H/S/Beyond is also an anthology of gory horror shorts. Five segments are directed by Jordan Downey, Christian and Justin Long, Justin Martinez, Virat Pal, Kate Siegel, and Jay Cheel. The one directed by Indian-born Virat Pal, "Dream Girl," is set in India and revolves around Bollywood.
Namrata Sheth, known for her roles in Guilty Minds and Karmma Calling, is making her Hollywood debut with this segment, which, according to IMDb, also stars Rohan Joshi (Axone), Ashwin Mushran (Page 3, Lage Raho Munnabhai) and Sayandeep Sengupta (The Office, Undekhi).
According to reports, "Dream Girl" revolves around two paparazzi who try to trespass into a Bollywood shoot to take pictures of its lead actress, Tara, the character played by Namrata Sheth, but find themselves dealing with far more dangerous and life-threatening. Karmma Calling Review: Raveena Tandon and Namrata Sheth's 'Revenge' Drama is a Hollow Soap Opera Masquerading as a Thriller.
The glimpses of the segment are found in the recently revealed trailer of V/H/S/Beyond, like Tara creepily looking at the camera and asking if the person holding the camera wants a selfie. The trailer is pretty gory and disturbing, what with flesh-eating aliens, zombies, bloody decapitations and more grisly stuff. So watch with caution.
