If heights, plutonium devices and a beefed-up Henry Cavill cannot bring down Tom Cruise, what can poor Winnie The Pooh do
If heights, plutonium devices and a beefed-up Henry Cavill cannot bring down Tom Cruise, what can poor Winnie The Pooh do? Mission Impossible Fallout is on a rocking form at the box office. Even in its second week, the action thriller has managed to retain the top spot at the North American box office, beating the new player in town, Disney's live-action Winnie the Pooh film, Christopher Robin. In its second weekend, MI-Fallout, produced by Paramount Pictures, has collected $35 million from 4,395 locations. This brings the total earnings of the movie to $124 million in North America itself.
Even overseas too, Fallout is in good form as it grossed $205 million worldwide. We have to add here that Fallout is yet to release in China, which is happening on Agust 31. So expect the earnings to surge ahead. In India too, the movie has managed to do more than decent business, earning Rs 61.50 as per the last update. Fallout is directed by Christopher McQuarrie and is the sixth instalment in the Mission Impossible franchise. The movie also stars Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan, Sean Harris and Alec Baldwin.
Meanwhile, Christopher Robin, while relegated to the second position, has still given a decent first-weekend collection of $25 million from 3,602 screens. The movie is turning out to be a hit with the family collections. Christopher Robin, starring Ewan McGregor and Hayley Atwell, will release in India this week.
