When talking about Spider-Man in cinema, the first thing that comes to your head is the portrayal of Tobey Maguire in the Sam Raimi films. Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire brought such a great amount of heart and love to this character that his portrayal defined a generation. Being many fans’ definitive portrayal of Spidey, Maguire surely earned the status of being a top five version of the webhead. So, to celebrate Tobey Maguire’s 49th birthday, let’s take a look at seven of his best scenes as Spider-Man.
1. That Upside Down Kiss (Spider-Man)
Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man movie had many iconic scenes, but the one that continues to be most naughtily remembered is when Peter Parker first comes to rescue Mary Jane as Spider-Man while she is being troubled by hooligans. Her way of thanking him with a rain-drenched kiss while he hangs upside down is easily one of the sexiest scenes in cinema.

2. Declining MJ (Spider-Man)
Uncle Ben said that with “great power comes great responsibility,” and the ending of Spider-Man conveys this message very well. One of the most relatable things about Peter is his sacrificing everything for the greater good. His declining MJ’s love at the end of the first film, even though he has feelings for her, creates a great ending.

3. That Lunch Tray Trick! (Spider-Man)
This is more of a Peter Parker scene, okay, rather a Tobey Maguire feat than a Spider-Man shot. When Mary Jane walks past Peter while he is having lunch at the school canteen, she slips, and Peter's spidey instincts help him catch her before she falls. Not just that, he even manages to hold on to her lunch tray while catching all her foodstuff that was flung in the air. It is said that there was no tech wizardry involved, and Maguire actually pulled off that scene on his own after many takes. Impressive.

Peter sees that MJ has been kidnapped by Venom and Sandman on the news, and the villain duo taunts him to come out and fight. Rushing back home, he finally gets out his red and blue suit and becomes Spider-Man again after letting go of the darkness that was consuming him.

5. Swinging Alongside Spider-Men (Spider-Man: No Way Home)
The best part about Spider-Man: No Way Home was that it brought three generations of Spider-Men together. 7. Train Fight (Spider-Man 2)
Spider-Man 2 featured the most visually impressive fight scene in the series as Spidey and Doc Ock lay it all out on a train.
