The Witcher is based on the books Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, which also spawned multiple role-playing videos games over the years. The fandom for the character and the story is monumental out there. Netflix could not afford to miss even beat with so many people closely monitoring what will be served on the screen. The only significant change from the games, spotted in the trailer, could be the addition of people of colour. The source material originally consists of a primarily white cast. But we all can live with that little change.
