Another tale of dreamy romance bites the dust. Lady Gaga and Christian Carino have officially broken up and called off their engagement. The news was confirmed by Gaga's rep to E! News. Just last week, a source spoke to E! News and told them about the couple's split and that Carino was desperately trying to win her back.

However, two other sources disregarded the break up rumours and added that Gaga and Carino were still together. Although earlier in January, it was speculated that perhaps Gaga has second thoughts about her marriage with Carino, they were later spotted together to quash the rumours. The rumours surfaced back after Gaga appeared alone at the Grammys sans her wedding ring.

It wasn't unnoticed that Carino did not appear for the awards to support his lady love, who was nominated and even won three Grammys including one for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her song Shallow with Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born. As she went to perform, gaga's pink sapphire $400,000 engagement ring was also not on her finger, fueling the rumours. To this, a source did add, "She just wasn't wearing her ring due to performing," the insider said. "They have put all their wedding plans on hold until after Gaga's busy season, but still plan to get married this year." E! News received a quote from a source who said, "just didn't work out. Relationships sometimes end."

Gaga and Carino first confirmed their engagement back in October 2018. This was a year following all the engagement speculations. During quite a few of her acceptance speeches in the recent awards season, Gaga did thank him. However, at the Grammys, she chose to talk about mental health.
