The legendary British rock band, Queen, is set to take up the Academy Awards 2019 stage on February 24. On Monday, the official handle of the Academy Awards shared a teaser video of Queen along with Adam Lambert with background music of "We Will Rock You". The handle quoted in the tweet, s this the real life? Is this just fantasy? We welcome @QueenWillRock and @adamlambert to this year's #Oscars"
On the same, even the official Twitter account of Queen tweeted stating, "We will rock The Oscars." Lambert currently serves as the lead vocalist for the band and filling legendary vocalist Freddie Mercury's shoes for the band. The musician first played with Brian May and Roger Taylor when competing on American Idol back in 2009. Three years later, Lambert started touring with the band. The biopic of Queen named Bohemian Rhapsody might not have struck the right chords with the critics but it sure has raked a lot of applause by first winning Best Picture at the Golden Globe Awards. Actor Rami Malek, who plays Freddie in the film, especially has been raking in a lot of praise and accolades this awards season. The film has earned five Oscar nominations this year including Best Picture, Best Actor, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Film Editing.
The band will join the other performers namely, Jennifer Hudson, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga and Bette Midler, who has been announced to perform by the Academy Awards. The Academy Awards is set to take place on February 24 and will be aired on various channels of Star (Star Plus and Star World).
