While Spider-Man Far From Home is already faring well at the ticket windows, The Lion King, on the other hand, has got cash registers ringing big time as well. The live-action animated film directed by Jon Favreau has been in cinema halls for over a week now and it's set to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Announcing the same along with the updated figures, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter and wrote, "#TheLionKing witnesses excellent growth on [second] Sat... Growth on [second] Sat [vis-à-vis second Fri]: 116.07%... Will cross ₹100 cr today [Day 10]... [Week 2] Fri 5.35 cr, Sat 11.56 cr. Total: ₹ 98.48 cr. India biz. All versions. HIT."
Boxofficeindia.com has also noted in its report, "The Lion King showed phenomenal growth on its second Saturday as collections rose around 120% from Friday. The film could get a second week in the 30 crore nett range which is excellent. The nine-day business of the film is almost 98 crore nett." Before The Liong King, filmmaker Jon Favreau directed The Jungle Book and that too had performed well at the ticket windows not just in India but across the globe. Apart from helming both the projects, Favreau has also produced them.
