The Lion King is having a fantastic run at the Indian ticket windows. The live-action animated film directed by Jon Favreau has turned out to be a blockbuster and is now eyeing to surpass the Rs 150 crore mark at the domestic box office. The Hollywood biggie arrived in theatres on July 19 and since then has been minting big money without being affected by Hindi releases. Just like the first two weekends, the Disney classic witnessed a big jump over the third weekend as well and added another Rs 11.88 crore to its grand total. The Lion King Box Office Collection Day 14: Disney's Classic Is Racing Towards Rs 150 Crore Mark in India, Earns Rs 127.32 Crore

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the same news on the popular micrblogging site Twitter and wrote, "#TheLionKing refuses to slow down... Witnesses superb growth on Sat and Sun, like previous two weekends... Inches closer to ₹ 150 cr... [Week 3] Fri 1.76 cr, Sat 4.45 cr, Sun 5.67 cr. Total: ₹ 139.20 cr. India biz. All versions."

He also tweeted, "#TheLionKing biz at a glance...Week 1: ₹ 81.57 cr, Week 2: ₹ 45.75 cr, Weekend 3: ₹ 11.88 cr. Total: ₹ 139.20 cr. Nett BOC. India biz. All versions. BLOCKBUSTER." Since Favreau's latest offering won't be slowing down anytime soon at the box office, it's likely to beat the lifetime business of Ranveer Singh's Gully Boy this week itself. The Lion King Box Office Collection Day 10: Jon Favreau's Directorial Venture Is Unstoppable in India, Earns Rs 114.27 Crore

Also, though Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra's Jabariya Jodi is set to arrive in cinema halls this week, it will hardly make any difference to The Lion King at the BO. Things will heat up at the ticket windows only after Mission Mangal and Batla House release on August 15.
