Jon Favreau's highly anticipated directorial venture The Lion King has turned out to be the fourth blockbuster of the year in India. The live-action animated film is enjoying a golden run at the Indian box office and refuses to slow down anytime soon despite new Bollywood films coming every other week. The Lion King has been in theatres for two weeks now and it has already raked in Rs 127.32 crore at the domestic box office. What's interesting is that the Hollywood biggie has two more weeks to mint big moolah before facing competition from Mission Mangal and Batla House. Just a while back, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to the microblogging site Twitter and revealed the updated figures saying, "#TheLionKing continues its dominance... Eyes ₹ 150 cr, perhaps even more, if it accumulates big numbers over next two weekends... [Week 2] Fri 5.35 cr, Sat 12.22 cr, Sun 15.13 cr, Mon 3.58 cr, Tue 3.31 cr, Wed 3.15 cr, Thu 3.01 cr. Over the weekend, The Lion King will easily surpass the collections of Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 which has collected a little over Rs 131 crore to date. And by next week, the remake of Disney's 1994 classic will leave behind films like Gully Boy and probably Total Dhamaal and Kesari too.
