The teaser trailer for Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman prequel, The King's Man has arrived and it is much more exciting than you expected it to be. The trailer shows, The King's Man takes place against the backdrop of WWI. The characters are based on famed historical figures, including Ralph Fiennes as T. E. Lawrence, Gemma Arterton as Mata Hari, and Rhys Ifans as Grigori Rasputin. In the trailer, we see all these big figures coming together at what looks like a conclave. Disney Reveals Kingsman Prequel Title and Release Date – Deets Inside!
The synopsis of the film says, "As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King's Man."
Not all origins films turn out to be successful and its especially tricky with the Kingsman franchise given that after the first film was received extremely well, the sequel got a lukewarm response. Although we have to say, this trailer does show us a story that has history at its core but there's also the bits of action that remind us of the previous films from the franchise.

The film also stars Matthew Goode, Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, and Charles Dance in key roles. Matthew Vaughn had also helmed the first Kingsman: The Secret Service movie and its sequel The Golden Circle, as well as films like Kick-Ass, and X-Men: First Class previously.
The screenplay is written by Jane Goldman, Matthew Vaughn, co-written by Karl Gajdusek; based on the comic book The Secret Service by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. 20th Century Fox will release Vaughn's The King's Man in theatres in 2020.
