The first trailer for the reboot of the Japanese horror franchise The Grudge was released by makers Sony Pictures and we assure you that going near the bathtub will be off your bucket list for quite some time. From the looks of the trailer, it is certain that the makers have made good on their promise- to make the film much scarier than its original. It also has the potential to be the goriest one in the franchise. What's special about this one is that the film is being introduced to be in a timeline that's simultaneous with the 2004 film. Avengers Infinity War: Predicting 5 Fan-Favourite Superheroes Who Would Die in the Battle Against Thanos

The Grudge also has the same title as its predecessor, the 2004 Japanese-American supernatural horror film, the only difference being that while the original film's storyline was based in Japan, the new flick's story will be seen in America.

The film revolves around Andrea Riseborough's character, that of a young detective investigating a mysterious death when she comes across a house that is 'grudged'. In an earlier interview with EW, director Nicolas Pesce was quoted as saying, "Like the old films, it's a tapestry of three different stories that interweave and all take place at slightly different times, centred around this one house that's at the centre of this case that this cop is working on." Viral Momo Challenge Makes Its Way to Hollywood! However, what has been abundantly clear from the very beginning is that this Grudge movie will have no similarities or references to any of the previous films from the franchise. The Grudge will hit the theatres in the US on January 3, 2020 and the UK on January 31, 2020 and stars actors John Cho, Lin Shaye, Demián Bichir, Betty Gilpin and Jacki Weaver.
