The Terminator franchise is all set to get the much-needed reboot. The next entry in the line is Terminator: Dark Fate, the first trailer of which released today. The movie is a direct sequel to James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgement Day. With that, it also reboots the series undoing the events of the films after T2. Well, that is information not available in the new promo, so you can thank us later if Linda Hamilton's return as Sarah Connor complicated the timelines and confused you. Though, what has been retained from the last two Terminator movies is the concept of human-robot hybrids. Mackenzie Davis plays the role this time.
In the new trailer we se, Sarah plays the saviour to a small girl, who is in the protective custody of Mackenzie's Grace. The new footage is peppered with cool shots and scenes of the new Terminator trying to...terminate his targets. Then, the movie trailer also introduces us to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is returning in the iconic role of T-800, who has returned to the past to help Sarah. We don't see him much in action. Maybe the makers want to save the best for the movie.
Watch the trailer of Terminator: Dark Fate below:
The first two Terminator movies were the brainchild of James Cameron, who returns as the producer for the new one after distancing himself from the last three movies. If the master filmmaker agreed to bankroll the film, we can expect that Dark Fate's own fate to be quite bright. Terminator 6 is all set to release in theatres on November 1, this year.
