The Teen Choice Awards finally happened and it was quite a spectacle. The awards took place on Sunday night in Hermosa Beach, California. For the event, Lucy Hale and David Dobrik played hosts. The awards this year did have a new category called Icon Award. Singer Taylor Swift was the first one to be honoured with this accolade. The list of performers included One Republic, Bazzi, Blanco Brown, Mabel and Jordan McGraw with Sarah Hyland. The Teen Choice Awards winners were easy to predict. They were majorly earned by Marvel movies, actors like Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Zendaya and more. Will Smith's blue Genie avatar for Aladdin also took home quite a few trophies making it their first win since the film's release over the summer. With respect to the TV sphere, Riverdale and Stranger Things shone amid the others. Yes, both the Netflix shows with their teen cast won the hearts of the teenagers. Even teen heartthrob Noah Centineo won accolades, as did BTS and Shawn Mendes.
