Margot Kidder, the Lois Lane of the Christopher Reeves-led Superman series, is no longer with us. She was passed away on Sunday at her home in Livingston, Montana. She was 69. As per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, there is no official confirmation as to what caused her death. According to her PR manager, she had passed away peacefully in her sleep.

Margot Kidder may be known for her role as the investigative journalist and the love interest of Clark Kent/Superman in the '80s series. But that's the not the only role she was popular for. While she has been a part of all the four movies in the Superman series, Kidder was also a part of many hits in the '80s like The Amityville HorrorSisters, The Great Waldo Pepper, etc. She had begun her career with the TV series, Wojeck, before making her movie debut with The Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar in 1968. Her last movie role was in 2017's The Neighborhood.

Interestingly Margot Kidder never thought that the movie that made her iconic would be a hit. In an earlier interview, she had revealed, "Nothing prepares anyone for that sudden thing of being world famous, it was such a shock. It wasn't something I really liked or something I was very good at. I didn't realize how good the movie was until I seen it at the premiere in Washington."

Her Superman co-star Christopher Reeve has died in 2004 from complications from an infection, after having spent nine years as a quadriplegic following a horse riding accident.
