While Twitter and other social media accounts help us in connecting with people and share information, they are used to verbally attack others and spread lies, unfortunately. Recently, Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star of the Netflix show, Stranger Things, had to delete her Twitter after she became a target of homophobic Twitterati.

Millie Bobby Brown has been a vocal supporter of the rights of LGBTQ community and it is this stance of hers that made her a victim of online trolling. As per a report in Variety, it all started with a meme of that came out on Twitter, that was shared by members of the gay community. What started off as a satire soo snowballed into something large and crude, that it was too much for the 14-year old actor, which explains her sudden decision to leave Twitter. Recently another celeb, Kelly Marie Tran, was driven away by rabid Star Wars fans from social media. Despite the support from her fellow Star Wars actors, Tran couldn't beat the toxic hate shown towards her and quit Twitter. These fans were against the ethnicity of the actor, who had an important role in The Last Jedi, and went on to trash her character and fat-shame the actress.
