Steven Spielberg can never go wrong, can he? Considered as one of the biggest legends behind the camera, Steven Spielberg is ready with his next. Ready Play One, based on a popular name by the same name, is a sci-fi adventure movie with enough videogame references to appease the geeks. This was considered as quite a risque project for master filmmaker Steven Spielberg, who last made the critically acclaimed Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks' starrer The Post. Many felt that the movie was too young for the 71-year old director. However, going by the early reactions at the SXSW screening of the movie, it is time to allay these aspersions. For Spielberg can never really go wrong. Except maybe with 1941...
Ready Player One had its first screening at the SXSW festival where it elicited some really positive reactions. This, despite the fact that the movie had suffered technical glitched during the climatic portions where the sound was cut out. Check out some of the reactions below,
I don’t know if I have ever seen a #SXSW crowd cheer on a movie the way they just cheered on #ReadyPlayerOne. We haven’t seen this Spielberg in a long time - it’s just pure entertainment and it’s hard not to watch it without a dorky smile on your face the whole time

Ready Player One is a pop culture extravaganza. A truly one of a kind film that combines video games, tv, movies, music, & action figures into one huge crowd pleasing film. Prepare to be wowed & see this on the biggest screen with the best sound system possible. #ReadyPlayerOne pic.twitter.com/Tj6QuqI9oF

READY PLAYER ONE was a visual feast with a great joke-per-minute ratio and fun, heartwarming performances. A two hour nerd-gasm. #ReadyPlayerOne #sxsw

The 15-year-old me would have loved #ReadyPlayerOne. The 35-year-old me thinks it's pretty great too. #SXSW

READY PLAYER ONE: basic script with simple themes. Doesn’t stop the film from being enjoyable. Does drag a little too long, though #SXSW #ReadyPlayerOne pic.twitter.com/1e5wnSXq4B

Ready Player One is FUCKING FUN. Most fun I’ve ever had in a theater. #ReadyPlayerOne #sxsw

The technical difficulties at the #SXSW screening of #ReadyPlayerOne made it even more of an insane scene. Crowd was next level enthusiastic. The woman next to me stood up and cheered when the sound finally got fixed. What a blast. pic.twitter.com/apAqVWufCf
