Hollywood is starting to give the LGBTQ community representation in mainstream movies. Albeit, only via minor roles, which might even be insignificant to the plot. Earlier, Dinsey's Beauty and the Beast, without saying it explicitly, expressed character LeFou's sexuality. In Disney's Avengers: Endgame, director Anthony Russo, appears in a tiny role playing a gay man in a support group. Now, Disney has included a lesbian kiss in the latest film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. During a celebration sequence in the film, two minor characters, both females, share a kiss. The efforts would benefit the community more if such roles were not so coy or blink and miss.

Director of Star Wars 9, JJ Abrams noted to Variety, "In the case of the LGBTQ community, it was important to me that people who go to see this movie feel that they’re being represented in the film." Thor: Love And Thunder - From Natalie Portman's Return To Valkyrie's LGBTQ Reveal; All You Need About Cast and Release Date of Chris Hemsworth's Film!

Earlier, there were rumours, or say fan pleas, that Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega), should come out as lovers. The suggestions were all over the internet post the release of The Force Awakens. But Abrams said that the two characters only shared a platonic relationship. “It is a deep bond that these two have, not just because of the trial by fire in which they met, but also because of their willingness to be as intimate as they are, as afraid as they, as unsure as they are, and still be bold, and still be daring and brave," he said.

Well, the upcoming Disney film, The Eternals, will also feature a gay character. While the identity of the character or the actor playing it is not revealed, producer Kevin Feige has confirmed the news during D23 Expo in California. We wonder if this role would also be a minor one.
