Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor Remembered at the 90th Academy Awards

The 90th Annual Awards are being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood's Los Angeles. The biggest film night paid tribute to Bollywood stars in Memoriam. While honouring the stars who passed away, the awards also mentioned of veteran actors Shashi Kapoor and Sridevi. Roger Moore, Jonathan Demme, Jerry Lewis were among the other great actors who contributed to the cinema and are no longer with us. Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder hosted the In Memoriam segment. Indian fans are more than glad to see this honour of their beloved stars.

The Shape of Water is leading the Oscars with 13 nominations. Guillermo Del Toro won the award for the Best Director of this film. Gary Oldman won the award for the Best Actor for the film Darkest Hour. Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk which was leading with 8 nominations, got the award for Best Film Editing. Frances McDormand took the award for Best Actress for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Actress Priyanka Chopra could not make it to the ceremony because she has been unwell. So her fans here would be little disappointed, but looking at Sridevi and Shashi Kapoor being honoured is definitely a good thing. It just shows how much impactful they were in the entire cinema space.

People are thanking the Academy Awards for giving this honour. And we totally understand how proud feeling it is for everyone. The sudden demise of the iconic actress due to accidental drowning left the industry in a shock. Not just fans, even fellow actors are very happy to see the honour given to Sridevi.
