Spider-Man: No Way Home is just a few days off from release and fanfare for the movie has been extremely high. Spider-Man: No Way Home picks up right after the ending of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Having his identity revealed as Spider-Man and wrongfully accused of murder, Peter finds himself on the run. Peter enlists the help of Doctor Strange where he uses a spell to make everyone forget he is Spider-Man. But after the spell gets botched due to Peter’s mistake, the multiverse opens up and villains start coming in. Spider-Man No Way Home: Tom Holland, Zendaya and Others Look Glam at the Red Carpet Premiere of the MCU Film in LA (View Pics).
Spider-Man: No Way Home has been described as the biggest Spider-Man film yet. The third film in Tom Holland’s trilogy seems to be bringing the last two Spider-Man franchises together. This is going to be done by bringing in villains from those films. The villains consist of Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman and The Lizard. With the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home right around the corner, let’s rank all the villains that are returning in Tom Holland’s next adventure as the wall crawler.
The Lizard (The Amazing Spider-Man)
Played by Rhys Ifans in The Amazing Spider-Man, the Lizard had all the makings of a good villain, but ultimately stumbled in its execution. Curt Connors had a personal relationship with Peter as he knew his father, had this plotline been explored, could have made Lizard so much better. He just ends up coming off as a clichéd CGI monster that lacks any depth.
Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)
Another villain with a good idea behind him but a faulty execution. Electro played by Jamie Foxx is an interesting character to say the least. While his design looks decent and the effects related to him are quite well done, his story just comes off as dumb. There was real potential here and had filmmakers regulated more time to him, it could have definitely been done justice.
Sandman (Spider-Man 3)
Perhaps the most sympathetic out of all the spidey villains yet, Thomas Hayden Church’s Sandman was the best part about Spider-Man 3. While the retcon of him accidentally killing Uncle Ben might have rubbed many of the fans the wrong way, his storyline still packed a lot of emotional punch.
Green Goblin (Spider-Man)
Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin is the most maniacal villain you will ever see in a comic book film. He is pure evil and with Dafoe’s acting being top notch, Green Goblin is one of the best villains in any superhero film ever. Really excited to see him back in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and seeing the little snippets of Dafoe, is just like a knockback to my childhood. Doctor Octopus (Spider-Man 2)
Gold standard for comic book villains, Alfred Molina played the hell out of Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2. From him turning evil to his redemption at the end, this is one of the best realised villains in any spidey film ever. Not to mention the visuals behind him hold up extremely well to this day because so much of it is practically done.
