While it is easy to bring in Fantastic Four into MCU, them being powered individuals, it is not easy to bring the mutants, who according to comics existed since the evolution of man, into the new world. With the possibility of multiple universes, MCU can introduce the idea that mutants exist in an alternate reality and the breach can make the Avengers meet the X-Men and perhaps, even fight them. That did happen in one of the more popular Marvel comics storylines, Avengers vs X-Men.
