There have been so many movies made on the legend of Sherwood's famous outlaw, Robin Hood. While some have been successful, like Kevin Costner's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, there are others that failed, like Russel Crowe's Robin Hood. So there is some trepidation with which we are looking at the upcoming adaptation of the Robin Hood story, starring Taron Egerton in the lead. Reimagining him in a snazzy avatar that is supposedly done to connect with the current generation, Egerton (Kingsman: Secret Service)'s Robin Hood feels more of an action star out of a Guy Ritchie movie than a 15th-century outlaw, going by the recent trailer.

For Robin Hood, the movie, reminds me a lot of Ritchie's adaptation of King Arthur, which is a kind of concern since that movie flopped big time. Treading on the same path, the new-age Robin Hood is stylishly edited with some cool action scenes and pop songs playing in the background. The mentor-mentee relationship between Jamie Foxx's Little John and the young Robin Hood is a fresh perspective on their friendship, as the old tales often perceive them as friends.

Also, don't miss out on Jamie Dornan's Will Scarlet, Eve Hewson's Maid Marian, and of course, the fantastic Ben Mendelsohn as Sheriff of Nottingham (isn't this man getting too typecast as a villain? See Rogue One and Ready Player One).
