This piece of news might receive a mixed response from the fans for it hints at bringing back a controversial character back to life. Robert Pattinson aka Edward Cullen wants to grow the sideburns and don yellow (is it?) lenses to return as the vampire who fell in love with a human in Stephanie Meyers' Twilight series. The 32-year-old confessed that he has been in talks with his agents to reprise the character of Edward Cullen, for him.
In an interview with Variety, the actor confessed, "I was literally talking to my agent about it,’ he quoted and further added, "The amount of time I’ve spent moisturising, I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice. Ready!’ He also jested about how he had ‘stopped mentally progressing’ during the time he filmed the Twilight movies. Well, his fans would not agree to the mental progression bit but they definitely would agree with how time stopped every time he made an appearance on the screen in the film.
He also addressed the audience who often claimed that the Twilight Saga was their guilty pleasure. Pattinson said, "Whenever anyone says [Twilight’s] their guilty pleasure, it’s like, you say guilty, what you really mean is just pleasure," he joked. Since the four Twilight movies, Robert did get into more contemporary, indie and art-house movies where the craze and fan base wasn't as vast as the popularity he raked in during Twilight.
On the same, he said, "It’s the stuff that appeals to me and the opportunities you come across," he said. "Pretty much everything I’ve done is this massive processes. I’m just hoping that these things happen and there’s a ton of circumstances that come into play." Robert dated his Twilight costar, Kristen Stewart, throughout the four years of them filming the Twilight series and broke up after the infamous picture leak of Kristen getting close to the film's director Rupert Sanders.
