With only a few days remaining for Marvel's Avengers: EndGame, it is time for us to look back at the path we travelled on. Marvel Cinematic Universe, that begins its 2008 with Iron Man, is now ready to see a culmination of its three phases with 21 movies done away with. The journey had seen its highs and lows when it comes to both the movies and the fans. We have seen the best of the lot through the likes of Avengers: Infinity War, Iron Mann, Guardians of the Galaxy series, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War.  Did You Spot the Avengers: Endgame Hint in Robert Downey Jr's Birthday Crossword?

We have also seen the lows, very few though, in Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World. Now it is time for us to take a quick recap and look at what has impressed us the most in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what hadn't, before Avengers: EndGame releases on April 26.

In this special feature, we went through all the 21 movies that came before EndGame and picked up that one action scene in each movie that impressed us the most. Iron Man

Scene: The Conquest of Gulmira

When Tony Stark learns how his weapons are being used by militants to terrorise the civilians in Gulmira, he puts his perfected Iron Man suit for actual superhero purposes to save the people there. It is the most exhilarating scene in the film, especially that one moment when he blows off a tank without a backward glance.

The Incredible Hulk

Scene: The University Fight

The forgotten step-child of MCU has an incredible action scene when Bruce Banner gets accosted at college grounds by Blonsky's men. Which leads to a thrilling fight between The Hulk and the mercenaries.

Iron Man 2

Scene: The Attack During Monaco Car Rally

While Iron Man 2 has its issues, plenty at that, the way Jon Favreau has directed the Monaco car race and Whiplash's (Mickey Rourke) attack on Tony Stark is commendable. Even Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts get their moments to shine.

Thor

Scene: Thor vs Destroyer

Loki sends the Destroyer to Earth who plummets Thor, when the latter is trying to reason with his power-hungry foster brother. When everyone thinks he is dead, Thor gets his powers and Mjolnir back and whoops Destroyer's ass!

Captain America: The First Avenger

Scene: Kidnapping Zola

When Captain America and his Howling Commandoes decide to kidnap Nazi scientist Arnim Zola, little did they bargain the personal losses they will incur at the end. The train attack scene, set against the Swiss Alps, is superbly executed with a couple of fan moments like when Bucky uses the Cap's shield. It also ends on a tragic note when he falls down from the train to his apparent death, leaving the Cap to mourn the loss of his buddy.

The Avengers

Scene: The Avengers vs the Chitauri

Well, did you expect anything else? The whole climax thrilling ride with some exhilarating set-pieces. Cap and Black Widow saving the civilians, Banner turning into Hulk and punching a Chitauri reptilian, Hawkeye blasting Loki from his ship and Hulk smashing Loki - there were so much fun moments to watch. And of course, it ended with a near heartbreak of a moment, when Iron Man almost dies sending a nuke to space. If you haven't noticed, there is also a brilliant tracking shot in this sequence that follows the Avengers in action.

Iron Man 3

Scene: The Plane Rescue Scene

Iron Man goes on a daring mission to save the President of USA from a mid-air kidnap attempt. The highlight of the sequence is when Iron Man rescues the few of Presidential staff who have been flung from the plane. And towards the end of the scene, we find out that Tony Stark was not even in the suit!

Thor: The Dark World

Scene: The Climactic Fight in Greenwich

Thor: The Dark World is the least favourite MCU movie for many, but the fight scene between Thor and Malekith's men in the climax subverts expectations. With the Convergence happening, Thor and Malekith fight over multiple universes with portals opening at random places, with a hilarious scene where Thor lands far away from Greenwich and had to catch a subway there.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Scene: The Elevator Fight

Who knew the directors behind comedy products like You, Me And Dupree and Arrested Development could pull off awesome action scenes? The Winter Soldier displayed their knack of executing terrific action sequences, with the highlight being the scene where Cap takes on SHIELD's men within the confined space of an elevator.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Scene: Escape from Kyln prison

The Kyln Prison scene is the first time where Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot work as a team, albeit with its hiccups. There are quite a few funny moments there, when Rocket tricks Star-Lord into stealing someone's leg, and removes gravity from the prison.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Scene: "All of You Against All of Me"

The moment when all the Avengers in the film assembled together to take on the hundreds of Ultron clones in the climax. It felt like a comic book page come alive, with a fine circular, tracking shot. The only grouse is why War Machine was left out of the action when he was there in the vicinity.

Ant-Man

Scene: The Thomas The Engine Sequence

Director Peyton Reed uses the dynamics of shrinking technology in this terrific action sequence between Ant-Man and Yellowjacket. Who thought Thomas the Engine can be such a great action prop? Also ants!

Captain America: Civil War

Scene: The Airport Sequence

Preferably, I would have gone with the three-way fight between Iron Man and Cap/Bucky in the climax, or the chase sequence in Bucharest. But the sheer joy, and later, the thrill of seeing Avengers coming together, with the newly inducted Spider-Man, is just something else. Just everyone gets a chance to shine, though it is Spidey and Ant-Man, sorry, Giant-Man who steal the show!

Doctor Strange

Scene: The London Fight

Interestingly the best action sequence in the film doesn't involve Doctor Strange himself. Near the start, after Kaecilius and his men steal some mystical text from Kamar-Taj, they portal back to London where the Ancient One awaits them. What follows is a terrific display of imagery bending, with buildings getting folded and people getting crushed as the Ancient One shows how powerful she is.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol II

Scene: The Opening Fight Scene

The first fight scene has Guardians, along with baby Groot, take on a tentacled monster. What's so special about the scene is how James Gunn has shot it by making us follow baby Groot dance his way around the arena while all the action happens in the background!

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Scene: The Elevator Rescue

Homecoming's best action scene doesn't involve any villains, but rather a good escape attempt. When Peter Parker's friends are trapped in an elevator in the Washington Monument about to fall down, he puts on the Spidey suit to save them while also figuring out the new features Stark has added in them.

Thor: Ragnarok

Scene: The Bifrost Fight

The Whole Bifrost Fight scene in the Climax has terrific bits to keep you enthralled. The Hulk taking on that huge dog Fenris, Loki arriving to save the day and Skurge going down in a last stand. But the best is when Thor, who is blinded in an eye, discovers his full potential and takes on Hela's minions on the beats of the 'Immigrant' song.

Black Panther

Scene: Chasing Klaue Through Busan

The whole sequence where T'Challa, Okoye, and Nakia try to capture Klaue is one of the biggest highlights in this Oscar-nominated blockbuster. From that tracking sequence in the casino to the car chase scene on the streets, everything spells Awesome!

Avengers: Infinity War

Scene: The Titan Fight

In Marvel's biggest movie, well before EndGame, there are quite a few action setpieces. But none can surpass the heart-thumping thrills of Titan sequence where Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, Drax, Mantis and Nebula take on Thanos and try to remove his Infinity Gauntlet. They nearly win the battle, but Star-Lord losing his emotions over Gamora's death undoes their efforts. And the conclusion to the fight is gripping as Thanos nearly kills Tony Stark, who is only saved when Strange gives Thanos the Time Stone. 'Cos, 'We are in the EndGame now'!

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Scene: The Car Chase

The whole climax is one crazy bit of film-making as Ant-Man, the Wasp and Luis get chased around by Sonny Burch and his men for a suitcase. From cars shrinking and expanding to Ant-Man trying to stop a truck to huge Hello! Kitty pins, everything was fun about this scene!

Captain Marvel

Scene: Carol Realising Her Full Powers

The moment where Carol realises that her powers are being contained and she lets go of herself, is where Captain Marvel as a film scores the best. The scene shows how powerful she can be, as Carol destroys all her enemies with ease before packing off her former mentor Yon-Rogg back to space.
