Even as everyone is busy preparing for the Oscars 2019, wondering who will take home the big honours, there has been an equal amount of excitement to see who received the worst film awards this year. After the nominations for Razzies 2019 were announced last month, the winners list as per the Razzies tradition has now been announced a day prior to the 91st Academy Awards 2019. The Golden Raspberry awards which are better known as the Razzies first started back in 1981. The idea was to recognise the worst films of the year.
In 2019, it was Holmes & Watson that took home multiple awards including Worst Picture. The film starring Will Ferrell and John C Riley was a spoof of Sherlock. Donald J Trump also won in the Worst Actor category for Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 11/9.
Worst Screenplay award was won by Fifty Shades Freed which was the third installment in the Fifty Shades franchise starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan. The Worst Actress award was won by Melissa McCarthy for The Happytime Murders and Life of the Party.
