A week after the controversy surrounding sexual allegations against former Bohemian Rhapsody director, Bryan Singer, actor Rami Malek has divulged into details of what it was like to work with him. During the Santa Barbara International Film Festival that took place recently, Malek addressed the allegations of sexual abuse directed towards Bryan Singer.
He said, "My heart goes out to anyone who has to live through anything like what I've heard and what is out there," and added, "It's awful, it's remarkable that this happens, I can appreciate so much what they've been through and how difficult this must be for them. In the light of the #MeToo era that this somehow seems to exist after that, it's a horrible thing." As he shed light on the situation, Rami further said, "I've sat here and talked about how everyone deserves a voice and anyone who wants to talk about what happened with Bryan deserves to have their voice heard," Malek said. "In my situation with Bryan, it was not pleasant, not at all. And that's about what I can say about it at this point."
The crowd cheered on while Malek concluded the discussion centring around Singer as he stated, "For anyone who is seeking any solace in all of this, Bryan Singer was fired. Bryan Singer was fired, I don't think that was something anyone saw coming but I think that had to happen and it did." Earlier last week, Queen guitarist and producer of Bohemian Rhapsody, Brian May, also spoke regarding the Bryan Singer issue. However, his words, he alleges, were misconstrued.
Bryan Singer has come in the limelight as four individuals have allegedly stated that he performed sexual activities with them when they were underage. Ever since this subject has come out in the open, it has become a topic of discussion.
