R Kelly Sexual Abuse Case: 11 New Charges Filed in Chicago Against the R&B Singer
As per the court documents that were released on May 30, the charges filed on R. Kelly includes four felonies.
Robert Sylvester Kelly who is widely known as R. Kelly is a native of Chicago. Since the 90’s the American singer has been involved in sexual abuse and misconduct case. In January this year, many women came forward and made sexual abuse allegations against the 52-year-old R&B singer. But Kelly states that the allegations made against him are false. In February, the singer was indicted with 10 counts of criminal sexual abuse. And now, 11 new charges has been filed in Illinois, Chicago against Robert Kelly. As per the court documents that were released on May 30, the charges filed on R. Kelly includes four felonies. The document also mentions that the charges also include aggravated criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual assault to aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The imprisonment for such heinous crime could go upto 30 years. Darrell Johnson, the singer’s crisis manager stated, “He still maintains his innocence and denies all accusations brought against him by Jerhonda Pace in any state moving forward. Earlier in an interview with CBS R. Kelly was quoted saying, “I'm very tired of all of the lies. I've been hearing things and seeing things on all of the blogs and I’m just tired.” The new charges filed against the R&B singer is related to January 2010 case. BuzzFeed News reported that the singer’s attorney Steve Greenberg in a text message stated, “These ‘new’ charges are not really new — they are the same conduct, just charged differently, same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts.
