"R and B" singer R Kelly has been arrested for 13 sex trafficking accusations under federal sex trafficking charges. The 52-year-old was detained on Thursday in Chicago. The singer's name has been cropped up in the sexual abuse cases several times earlier too. According to Joseph Fitzpatrick, a spokesman for U.S. Attorney John Lausch, Robert Sylvester Kelly has also been involved in child pornography and obstruction of justice. Recently, a protest was carried out against the singer in the wake of multiple similar cases against him. The protestors had marched towards the headquarters of Sony Music Entertainment in Manhattan demanding a ban on the music involving him. This move especially came in after he six-part Lifetime TV docu-series, Surviving R. Kelly which features interviews with the music artist’s alleged accusers.
Hailing from Chicago, the singer is known for his songs including "I Believe I Can Fly", "Your Body's Callin'", "Gotham City", "Ignition (Remix)", "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time", "The World's Greatest", "Trapped in the Closet" to name a few. He has also received won three Grammy Awards too. He has also received BET Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, Billboard Music Award's, NAACP Image Awards, and American Music Awards.
