The team of Ghostbusters is all set to tackle new-age spirits in Ghostbusters 2020. Directed by Jason Reitman, the sequel to the 1989 film will see Marvel's Paul Rudd will the lead protagonist of the movie. He will be joined by Carrie Coon, Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard. Celeste O’Connor and Logan Kim will also play interesting characters in the upcoming movie. Over the announcement of Paul Rudd's confirmation in the new Ghostbusters movie, the actor quoted, “When I heard they were gonna call me, well, as you can imagine, I nearly slimed myself. The film, which is produced by Ivan Reitman, will see Rudd play a school teacher who is also a seismologist. Further discussing the movie, Reitman said, “I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans.” He further added, “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.” While Rudd will play a school teacher, Carrie Coon will portray a single mother as Finn Wolfhard and McKenna Grace will be her children in the movie. Reitman also quoted, “Well, he’s a seismologist who’s come to this small town because they’ve been having mysterious earthquakes. He’s also teaching summer school there.” Annie Potts will also be reprising her role as the overworked secretary Janine Melnitz, in Ghostbusters 2020. Rumour has it that Dan Aykroyd will also be part of the new Ghostbusters project. “I’ve been wanting to work with Paul Rudd since my short film opened for Wet Hot American Summer at Sundance,” Jason Reitman said. “Thrilled he’ll be joining this new chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe.” Ghostbusters 2020 is set to release next year in July.
