Actress Olivia Colman took home one of the biggest honour of the Best Actress award at Oscars 2019. The 45-year-old actress won the prestigious award for her performance in Yorgos Lanthimos' directorial, The Favourite. Colman won the Best Actress trophy away from frontrunners like Glenn Close for Good Wife and Lady Gaga's acting debut A Star Is Born. This is the first Oscar win from the British actress and the actress was naturally thrilled and flustered which seemed evident in her winning speech. Hours after the actress' win, a throwback video of Colman tracing her Indian heritage seems to have resurfaced online.
The actress had participated in last year's British documentary series, Who Do You Think You Are? For the 15th season of the show, the British actress traveled to India to find her roots which were traced to the area of Kishanganj in Bihar. During the course of the show, Colman even found out where her great great grandmother was born back in 1807. The show's format is such that in each episode Britain's most-loved celebrities trace their family tree to reveal the moving stories of their ancestors. Colman was surprised to find out the details about her great-great-grandmother and even traveled to Kishanganj via North East to visit the place where her ancestors lived.
