The 90th Academy Awards just got over with all the shimmer, glamour and good acceptance speeches! The Oscars 2018 as usual was the much- awaited ceremonies across the globe. Hollywood majorly saw the downfall of Harvey Weinstein, the emergence of Times Up and red-carpet blackouts, and the thrilling rise of diversity at the multiplex. The big night saw wonderful moments like orange-pin movement for advocating gun safety to Jimmy Kimmel’s moving speech. Talking about the nominations, films like The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri were leading the list. Naturally, the major awards are bagged by the personalities from these films! Here is the full winners’ list of Oscars 2018.
Fan-favourite Guillermo del Toro picked up the best director award for The Shape of Water, but our heart goes out to Christopher Nolan who missed out on landing an Oscars once again by a whisker. Unlike BAFTA and Golden Globes this year, Academy Awards 2018 did not really continue the #MeToo campaign with a dedicated dress code. However, host Jimmy Kimmel opened the awards night with a brilliant monologue against sexual harassment. The comedian and popular talk show pointed out that there needs to be more men in the town just like the Oscars trophy. All in all, it was yet another memorable edition in the history of Academy Awards.
