The 90th Annual Academy Awards air on March 4, 2018 at the most popular American Broadcasting Company (ABC) at 8 pm Eastern Time (6:30 am IST). Phantom Thread is a tale of romance which is set in postwar London, the film stars Daniel Day Lewis, Lesley Manville and Vicky Krieps. This film is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, a tale of lost mother and broken spells with secret messages. A bachelor Reynold Woodcock (played by Daniel) falls unexpectedly for a waitress Alma (played by Vicky) as they struggle with their relationship.

Directed by Martin McDonagh, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri portrays Mildred, a grieving mother who devises a provocative method to motivate the police investigating the unsolved murder of her daughter. The film deals with several themes that include child abuse, domestic abuse, racism, corruption, sexuality, religion and gender.
Get Out, 2017
Jordan Peele's Get Out is an unsettling horror film revolving around Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), a black man, who goes to meet the family of his white girlfriend Rose (Allison Williams). And it is not just any horror movie. It is a gripping thriller from beginning to end and the greater achievement is its comment on racism in modern American society that earned enormous applauds.
Lady Bird, 2017
Greta Gerwig’s feature debut as a writer-director is a gloriously funny and wistfully autobiographical coming-of-age comedy. Saoirse Ronan portrays the role of McPherson in Lady Bird a about going to school, fighting with your mum and trying to figure out who you are, what you’re about and what it is you want to do with your life.
The Post, 2018
Meryl Streep plays the role of Katherine Graham; The Post depicts the true story of attempts by journalists at The Washington Post. The movie takes us back to when The Washington Post published secret documents known as the Pentagon Papers that showed the involvement of the United States government in the Vietnam War.
These are the nominations for the best Picture in the Oscars 2018. Last year, the American director Barry Jenkins film Moonlight was named Oscar winner.
