Avengers: Infinity War was probably the best movie to come out in 2018. But also probably the worst, because how it made us feel at the end. The movie made adults cry more than they did in Inside Out. Half of our favourite superheroes from the MCU disintegrated into ash because of that psycho villain Thanos, who thought this would be great to control the population of the universe. Guess what Thanos, the Avengers are coming for you in Endgame. More on that later. Right now we have brand new info on the epic climactic sequence of Infinity War. Turns out, disintegrating into ash was not how Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Wanda, Black Panther, Star-Lord were supposed to bid farewell. It was something soo EXTRA that visual effects team changed it.

In an interview with The Playlist, Avengers: Infinity War's Visual Effects Supervisors Dan DeLeeuw and Kelly Port spoke at length about the work they did on the 2018 film and its upcoming sequel. They also talked about the disintegration scene, revealing, that probably their priority was to "was figuring out how everyone’s going to disappear".

They said, "We’re working towards a conclusion to when he [Thanos] uses all six stones that we would do this kind of big effect for it. It was something that no matter what we tried, it was too big, it would just overshadow what the actor’s performances," and added, "and we ended up kind of dialling it all back and kind of played off of the “ashes to ashes, dust to dust” kind of notion of passing from this world, your corporeal form disappearing and then just simplifying the shot," Avengers 4 Endgame Trailer: 10 Clues About Tony Stark, Hawkeye, Captain America, Ant-Man You Might Have Missed in Marvel's Gloomiest Promo! "Having the gravitas of the effect be more about how it moved and how they disintegrated and then the speed in which they disintegrated kind of making it unique for each of the actors and based on their performance," they said.

We are legit wondering how extra the original plans of disintegration must be that it made the makers rethink their decision. We are glad that the visual effects team stuck to the one in the movie because it is brutal enough already.
