The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, originally scheduled for September 10 but rescheduled to September 11 to avoid a clash with the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, saw some major wins. Held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, the event celebrated standout achievements in music, with Taylor Swift leading the night’s accolades. Taylor Swift, who had 12 nominations, emerged as the night’s biggest winner, taking home multiple awards and becoming the most awarded artist in VMAs history. Blackpink member Lisa made history by winning the Best K-Pop Award for the second time with her hit single “Rockstar”. Eminem claimed the Best Hip Hop award for his single “Houdini” from his twelfth studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
