Mission: Impossible - Fallout: 5 Awesome Sequences in Tom Cruise's Action Franchise That Made Our Jaws Drop - Watch Videos

So as the movie is about to release, let's look at the five best Mission Impossible scenes in the franchise, one from each movie, that managed to make our jaws drop!

Best scenes in the Mission Impossible franchise

Tom Cruise is back as the IMF (Impossible Mission Forces) agent Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible - Fallout, who loves running like hell and do impossible stunts without breaking a sweat or bone. The Mission: Impossible franchise is one of the rare non-superhero series that is getting better with every instalment, be it with the critical acclaim or with the audience appreciation. The first movie came out in 1996, and now we have five movies in the franchise with the sixth one coming out this week.

Christopher McQuarrie is directing Fallout, and he is the only director to return to the franchise after helming the last film, Rogue Nation. The other directors involved in the series are Brian De Palma, John Woo, JJ Abrams and Brad Bird, in that particular order. Apart from Cruise, Fallout also brings back Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris and Rebecca Ferguson from the previous movies, while Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby and Angela Bassett are the new players in town.

Like the previous films, the trailers of Fallout have promised some exciting actions sequences. So as the movie is about to release, let's look at the five best Mission Impossible scenes in the franchise, one from each movie, that managed to make our jaws drop!

The heist scene -  The First Mission Impossible Movie

Not every best MI scenes need to have explosions and chases. This now iconic scene has Tom Cruise access into a high-security vault at the CIA headquarters to steal a list from a computer. Racking with tension with even a sweat-bead making our hearts beating faster than usual, the scene is expertly edited and brilliantly photographed.

The bike chase - Mission: Impossible II

Hong Kong director John Woo knows how to stage great action spectacles. Just check out his Asian filmography like A Killer and Hard Boiled. Though MI-2 is considered as the weakest in the series, it has an awesome bike chase sequence filled with explosions, helicopters and enough car crashes to make the actionphile in you, happy.

The bridge explosion scene - Mission: Impossible 3

In not every best scene in Mission Impossible series, does Ethan Hunt come out as a winner. Mission Impossible 3 features the series' best villain in the late Philip Seymour Hoffman's Owen Davian. After Hunt captures him, Davian's men launch an attack at the convoy across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge–Tunnel. The way Hunt and his team tackles the attack and that awesome scene of him being flung sideways on a car thanks to an explosion make this the best scene in the whole movie. It also makes the best use of Tom Cruise's running, which is now a trademark of the MI series.

Scaling Burj Al Khalifa - Ghost Protocol

Ghost Protocol has some of the best scenes in the entire franchise, which includes the sandstorm chase scene and Kremlin infiltration sequence. But the most talked about scene is definitely Ethan Hunt scaling to Burj Al Khalifa in Dubai, one of the tallest buildings in the world to access their server room. The scene is special as Cruise has performed this dangerous stunt himself, albeit with enough safety measures, and manages to amp up the tension and make it a team effort in the end.

Catching a plane in a hurry - Rogue Nation

What can you say about a movie that begins with Hunt running and catching an about to be airborne flight, and latches on to itself as it heads towards the sky? Like the previous scene, Cruise has himself done the stunt, making us wonder at the man's dedication and agility even though he has crossed 50.

So which of these scenes is your favorite Ethan Hunt scene? Or did we miss out on the better ones? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
