Jennifer Lawrence has once again, in stern words, called out Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's predatory behaviour. The actress was in a shock of her life when she learnt that the disgraced producer had claimed that she had sex with him which led to her Oscar win. The information about Harvey's claims surfaced when a new lawsuit was filed against him by an unnamed actress alleging sexual assault. The lawsuit alleges that after facing protest from the plaintiff over sexual misconduct, Harvey boasted, "I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is; she has just won an Oscar." While talking to ET, Jennifer, furious over this false information, said, "My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein. I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him. This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged in to lure countless women." #MeToo In Hollywood: Lady Gaga Reveals The Dark But The Unstated Rule Followed By Predators!
A spokesperson for Weinstein has denied all allegations made in the new lawsuit. The spokesperson also addressed Jennifer in the statement and said, "Mr Weinstein is embarrassed for Ms Lawrence with whom he has only had a professional and respectful relationship, who has sadly been dragged into this ugly attempt at defamation."
In the wake of the #MeToo movement in Hollywood, Harvey was arrested in May on two separate charges of rape by two women. In July, a third woman pressed charges against the producer alleging sexual assault.
Back in October 2017, in a statement to People, Jennifer had said, “I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein’s behaviour. I worked with Harvey five years ago and I did not experience any form of harassment personally, nor did I know about any of these allegations. This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting,". Since October 2017, 60 women have come out with allegations against the producer.
