A month back, we had a superhero film called Captain Marvel, where the protagonist was seen tackling a race of shape-shifting aliens. Now two Marvel actors, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are fighting enemies with similar powers in their upcoming movie, that has nothing to do with MCU. Men in Black: International, a spinoff of the popular Will Smith-Tommy Lee Jones' MIB franchise, brings the Thor: Ragnarok pair together as the leads. Men in Black International Trailer: Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson Make One Hell of a Team.
Men in Black: International has Tessa's character who seeks out MIB since a child and be a part of the organisation, ever since she saw how the group works in her childhood. She gets enrolled and becomes Agent M in the UK branch. A mission gets her paired up with an operative from the US branch, Agent H, played by Chris Hemsworth. In case you wonder about the 'International' in the title, here's the reason.
Together, they look to catch a race of shape-shifting aliens who have even infiltrated into their organisation. Well, just like Skrulls did with SHIELD in Captain Marvel. Apart from that, you get the usual MIB tropes like bizarre aliens who hide in unexpected places and strange but powerful weapons. And there is also a dig at how the film is still called Men in Black, despite having women in the team!
Watch the new trailer of Men in Black: International below:
Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson play heads in the MIB. Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani voices a miniature alien Pawny who accompany Agents H and M in their mission. The movie also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Rafe Spall, and Les Twins.
Men in Black: International is directed by F Gary Gray who made The Negotiator, The Italian Job, Straight Outta Compton and his biggest hit, The Fate of the Furious. The movie is all set to release on June 14.
