Marvel's Black Panther Is Now The Third Highest Grosser In its Third Weekend; Earns $800 Million Worldwide

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler, and stars Chadwick Boseman in the lead

Can Black Panther turn out to be Marvel Cinematic Universe's highest grossing movie till date? As of now that record stays with the 2012 movie The Avengers that has earned $1,519,479,547 worldwide. There are three more movies in the one billion club like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. And if Black Panther continues its fantastic run, it could easily beat everyone in the above lines.

Even in its third weekend, the movie has been doing some impressive business, getting the third highest third weekend grosser in North America. Black Panther has collected $64 Million, lagging behind Star Wars The Force Awakens and James Cameron's Avatar. With no big competition in the days ahead and the movie's repeat-watch factor, Black Panther is all set to have a smooth sail ahead.

Even worldwide, the movie has grossed more than $800 million. Black Panther is yet to release in China, which is considered as one of the biggest market for movies. When that happens, it is a sure shot guarantee that the movie will earn more than a billion dollars.

Black Panther is directed by Ryan Coogler, and stars Chadwick Boseman in the lead as the King of Wakanda who uses the mantle of Black Panther to protect his kinsmen from the villains. Michael B Jordan and Andy Serkis play the antagonists, while Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker form the supporting cast.
