Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War Registers HUGE Box Office Pre-Booking Sales in India, Record Numbers Expected

In an unprecedented move even for a Bollywood movie, a Friday release in India has opened up its advance sales on a Sunday and registered huge pre-sale bookings within a day. Well, that's Avengers: Infinity War for you! Never before has a Hollywood movie has opened so well in advance and managed to do some really good pre-sale bookings. Avengers: Infinity War opened its advance sales bookings on Sunday, and within hours managed to do more than decent business for its upcoming weekend.
The writer himself had trouble trying to book tickets for an IMAX screening, and still haven't managed to get tickets for the same. While official figures are yet to be disclosed, certain trade analysts have confirmed that more than 40K tickets have been sold in multiplex chains.
As per trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal's tweet, "We are Moving towards 20cr Day 1 Open as of Now for #AvengersInfinityWar. Record Breaking advance all over India..... More dan 40k Tickets sold all over Inox Chains thruout India, PVR contributions too Massive.... (sic)". That's awesome for a Hollywood movies coming out in India!
Avengers: Infinity War is expected to release in India on 2000 screens, which is not somthing usual for a movie that came from the West. Speaking to Firstpost, Mahesh Samat, Senior VP and Managing Director at Walt Disney, South Asia said, “ This is the 10th year of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we were happy to bring the talents involved in Avengers: Infinity War to Singapore. As far as India specific market is concerned we will be having the biggest ever release in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Marvel and its superheroes have connected very well with Indian audiences. The growth of Marvel has been phenomenal across the Indian market, as proved by the recent blockbuster Black Panther. The dubbed versions are going to be massive, we don’t look at them as dubs, as it connects more fans to Marvel with better story telling. We expect the film to be a blockbuster.”
Avengers: Infinity War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The movie is considered as the biggest ensemble Hollywood movie and stars Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddleston.
