Nymphomaniac star Stacy Martin and actor Hayley Squires have boarded the cast of Louis Wain, a biographical drama about the iconic British painter. The film, being directed by Will Sharpe from a script he co-wrote with Simon Stephenson, features Benedict Cumberbatch as Wain and The Crown star Claire Foy as his wife Emily. Martin and Squires join the project alongside the likes of Sharon Rooney, Aimee Lou Wood, Adeel Akhtar, Julian Barratt and Asim Chaudhry, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Andrea Riseborough and Toby Jones are also part of the cast. The movie will follow the "the extraordinary true story" of the early 20th-century artist who became famous for his distinctive paintings of cats that inspired hearts and minds around the world. The project is being produced by Guy Heeley and Adam Ackland along with Ed Clarke and Leah Clarke. It is backed by StudioCanal, SunnyMarch, Shoebox, Film4 and Amazon Studios.
