Since the beginning of the Star Wars universe, it has always been tough for viewers to take the eyes off from the erotic character Lando Calrissian. It has been puzzling fans if he was flirting with Alden Ehrenreich’s Han or Droid L3-73 or both speculating if LGBTQ characters exists in George Lucas’ galaxy. To answer for all that fans have been craving for; Solo: A Star Wars Story happened. And before the film hits the theatre, here is something that will clarify your thought about the sexiest man, Lando’s sexual preferences. Well, he is pansexual!
To those who are wondering about the definition of pansexuality; is someone who is “not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity.” Co-writer of the new Solo: A Star Wars Story; Jonathan Kasdan in a recent interview with the Huffington Post revealed Lando’s sexuality. In the interview when asked whether or not Lando was pansexual, Kasdan answered; “I would say yes.” There you go! The most charismatic character in the galaxy is not mystifying anymore.
Kasdan continues, “There’s a fluidity to Donald and Billy Dee’s [portrayal of Lando’s] sexuality.” He further said, “I mean, I would have loved to have gotten a more explicitly LGBT character into this movie. I think it’s time, certainly, for that, and I love the fluidity ― sort of the spectrum of sexuality that Donald appeals to and that droids are a part of.”
Solo: A Star Wars Story is about young Han Solo and friends, that includes Lando Calrissian played by the extremely talented American actor Donald Glover. And Lando’s sexual preferences—men, women and droids definitely play a big role in the movie. Fans of Stars Wars knows and continues to debate that the movie being such a massive hit; the films never had any clear LGBTQ representation in the films. But with Lando’s character being revealed, we hope to see some in the future.
