The discussions around Avengers: Endgame seem to be unending and there still remains the mystery of how an old Captain America returned to give his shield to Sam Wilson. Fans have been debating about this for the longest time and there are numerous theories they have come up with to justify it. But recently, Marvell Studios president Kevin Feige was asked about the same and while he may not have given a specific answer, we love how his non-answer had a great pop culture reference to yet another franchise. Tony Stark’s Death Was the Most Difficult Day of Filming Avengers: Endgame, Say Directors Russo Bros.
After Feige was asked about old Captain America's appearance in the film, the Marvel head compared it to Star Wars. Speaking to Empire, he said, "That's a good question, for another time....Who says that? Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens in regard to, how did Luke Skywalker's lightsaber get in your castle. Ever since I heard that line I said, I'm gonna use that – a lot!"
For the uninitiated, Feige here is referring to Luke's old lightsaber, which was lost during his duel with Darth Vader on Cloud City that appeared in Maz's castle in Force Awakens. There has been no knowledge of how it got there and Star Wars fans have been riddled by this mystery since quite a while now. In the meantime, Marvel fans seem to have already found an answer to how Captain America came back to the present day. Many believe that he jumped into the main timeline from an alternate reality and that's how he was able to meet Sam to give him the shield. Well, looks like there are some questions we just won't get any answers to, first Star Wars and now Endgame.
